A few words from the Director

My name is Jeff Kates, LMT, ABP, BA and Director of the Advanced Bodywork And Massage Institute. I graduated from the Florida School of Massage in Gainesville, Florida in 1984. I have been successfully self-employed in the massage industry for 28 years now, and started the Cleveland School of Massage/Advanced Bodywork Institute in 1996.

After all that time, I still love my work and would not trade it for anything. Getting into this industry was the best decision I have ever made.

In this present economy, lots of people have to work two or more jobs to support their families and do not have one or two years to attend massage therapy schools.

Also, a lot of people do not have $10,000 to $20,000 for massage therapy schools.

And finally a lot of people have natural healing skills in their hands, but don’t test well. Thus, the pass rate for the State Medical Board Examination has been around 50% for the past 10 years or more.

So, for many people, all that time and money is an impossibility just so they can say I am a “massage therapist”.

Long ago, I became determined to open a school to make it possible for students without a lot of time and money to get a good massage education. I wanted to pass on my skills to anyone who had a desire to use their hands and hearts to bring relief and healing to others.

Since the opening of the school, hundreds of people have gone on to have successful careers and their own businesses. As their teacher, I am very proud of each and every one of them.

The bottom line is this. In less than one year, you can became a highly skilled and marketable health practitioner for only a fraction of the cost and time involved in programs offered elsewhere.

I also would like to extend an invitation to you to come to tour the school, maybe see part of a class taking place, or just stop by for a few minutes.  It would give you a chance to see if you feel comfortable at our school and if it is a good fit for you.
